Caceres is a small city which offers opportunities for tourists.  The city is pedestrianised, so you can visit its entire historical centre walking, so you can enjoy your visit in a very smooth way. You may even wish to get lost within its labyrinth of medieval streets and plazas, and see the churches, beautiful convents and amazing palaces. The visitant will discover the mixture of styles in its architecture from the Arabic through the northern Gothic, the Italian renaissance and the influential legacies of the Americas. It’s worthy to mention the churches of San juan and san Pablo, the Palacio de los Golfines de Abajo and Palacio de los Torreorgaz, today a Parador hotel. Or you just may walk by Paseo Canovas and glare to the city life.

The small streets in the historical centre have lots of small shops selling typical products. The convents sell homemade and local sweets and pastries. Wine is being a product in strong development and starting to get specialised awards. Other local products can be bought in most towns and villages in the province including sheep cheese (Torta del Casar, awarded with International recognition), goat cheese with paprika, fig cake, chestnuts, cured hams and other pork products, lamb, olive oil, and paprika (pimentón de la Vera).

Hope you enjoy the city with this tips!
