Travelling by car in Lanzarote

Car hire is indeed a popular choice in Lanzarote and is really a good way to move in the island. Hiring a car in the Canaries is not expensive and petrol is cheap thanks to the tax free status of the islands.

Due to the size of the island driving through it is easy and probably the best option to make the most of your stay.

Taxis are not expensive either and can be found in most towns of Lanzarote. You will recognize the taxis by the letters SP in the bumpers.

Travelling by bus in Lanzarote

Buses are called “guaguas” in Lanzarote, you can find bus stops in the main cities. If you plan to move in public transport in the island the best is to get information and advice in the local tourist information office.
